Abhyanga Massage with Warmed Oils
Abhyanga Massage with Warmed Oils

The science of life. It is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. The primary focus of Ayurveda is to promote good health, rather than fight disease. Margaret uses different Ayurvedic body treatments such as Abhyanga ( Warmed herbal oils are used in this relaxing light touch massage releasing toxins from the body through our natural bodily functions.)

Shirodhara ( Warmed oil flows from a suspended copper pot over the 3rd eye region of the forehead.)  Bringing the client into a deeper state of relaxation. As it calms the mind, and senses, it allows stress to be released from the nervous system. A third Ayurvedic treatment, Garshana (a “dry” massage using silk gloves to stimulate lymphatic drainage) aids in the releasing of digestive toxins known as “ama”. Abhyanga follows the Garshana treatment enriching the exfoliated skin with nurturing sesame oil. After toxins have been released and flushed from the body, the distribution of nutrients to specific cells, tissues and vital organs continues in a more beneficial manner. After any of these treatments a sense of lightness may occur along with better digestion, and an enlivened metabolism, enhancing well being on subtle levels. With their energy flowing in a clearer fashion clients may experience a more balanced state emotionally, mentally and physically.
